This mid level online program will take you five weeks to complete, plus study time. You will have access to your WSET student platform where you can ask your WSET educators questions, get answers, and engage with other sake lovers. Participation in the course online activities is essential for this certification.

Our WSET Level 2 course is your gateway to understanding, discussing, and tasting sake like a pro. Throughout this course, you will:
- Dive deep into the ingredients used in sake production and how they influence different styles.
- Learn about the various categories, grades, and specialty styles, along with the essential production decisions behind them.
- Understand the main techniques that are used, from fermentation starter to dilution and packaging, and how different choices are made when making the different styles of sake.
- Master the fundamentals of storing and serving sake, as well as key factors in sake and food pairings.
Designed for beginners eager to deepen their sake knowledge, this qualification provides insight into the main rice varieties used in production, how they’re cultivated and processed, and the diverse styles they create. Through guided tastings and engaging theory, you’ll build the confidence to assess and describe sake with accuracy and ease.

You pick the course date when you want to start! From anywhere you want! Enroll, read all the documents on your portal and then contact us cheers@vitishouse.com to schedule your exam. Vitis House instructors will be available to respond to your questions.
Course Structure:
Access and participation in the course online activities is essential. It is recommended to taste at least 12 different styles of sake during the program. For more information and full details on the course, please download the Specification sheet.
Entry Requirements:
There are no requirements for this qualification. Price includes the WSET® Level 2 online access, book, support from our educators, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).
Vitis House and WSET seeks to assess all candidates in a way that puts them at no disadvantage, or advantage, over other candidates. If you have a reasonable adjustment request, please send us an email at least 45 calendar days before the course.
Certification/Exam:
Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions. Online candidates will take the exam via Remote Invigilation. This will give you the flexibility to take the exam from your computer, monitored via webcam, using a secondary recording device (cell phone). To schedule your exam (14 business days in advance) please contact us at cheers@vitishouse.com after booking your course. Please note that you have six months, from the course start date, to sit the exam. After six months, you will have to purchase and re-take the entire course before you can sit the exam.
