This is a beginner level intro to the world of spirits, for the spirits lovers or for those starting a career in the industry. In this class, we explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting aromas and flavors.

Price includes the WSET® Level 1 Award in Spirits study guide, tuition, printed materials, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination). Tasting provided by Glass Revolution Imports. For all spirits qualifications, we use WSET ISO glasses to provide students with the proper tasting glasses to use during class.
Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 45 minutes. The assessment will take place on the same date as the class, at the end of the day. A total mark of 70% is required to achieve a pass. All students who pass will be issued with a certificate and will receive a lapel pin.

What you’ll learn
You will learn the basic principles of spirit production, the main types and styles of spirits, how to serve spirits, factors affecting the flavour of spirits and how to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT).

One day of class, from 9:30am – 4:30pm. Test will be at the end of the class.

Entry Requirements
There are no requirements for this qualification, but the student must be of legal drinking age in order to participate in the tasting. About 8-12 sprits are tasted during the course.

For all WSET® Spirits in-classroom qualifications, we use ISO glasses during class.
Certification
This level has a minimum requirement of six hours of study time, in classroom. After class, the student will take a 45-minute test. The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions and the student will need at least 70% to pass the exam.

WSET Students Cancellations/Refunds
All WSET courses sales are final once registration is completed and we have sent the materials. You can be transferred to another date 45 days in advance. No changes are accepted 45 days prior the course. Student can be transferred to another date 45 days in advance. Transfer fee for L1 is $150, for L2 $250 and for L3 is $375. Unfortunately, no transfers are allowed 45 days prior the first day of the course. Make sure you submit your transfer request by email cheers@vitishouse.com.
For WSET L1, L2 and L3 Online Students: no changes or cancellations are allowed after registration is completed.
