A Welcome to the World of Sake!
The Introductory Sake Professional course is the first step to entering the Sake Sommelier world. This course represents a unique opportunity for Sake lovers to further their understanding of Sake from its origins and serving etiquette to its ingredients and production, as well as an introduction to the differences between various types of Sake.
This is an intro class open to any Sake enthusiasts and anyone who works in the industry. Please note that there is no exam for this course but you will receive a certificate and pin from the SSA. Those wishing to gain the two-day Certified Sake Sommelier course and exam can register even without having the introductory course.
– The 2.5 hour class includes study materials, tuition and guided tasting.
– Chef Doreen Colondres will share an Asian inspired light dinner at the end.
– No exam! Students can enjoy a relaxed, fun and educational evening!
– You will receive an official certificate of participation from the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA).

Entry Requirements
There are no requirements for this introductory qualification, but the student must be of legal drinking age in order to participate in the sake tasting.
Price includes the study guide, class and printed materials.
For all in-classroom qualifications, we provide students with RIEDEL glasses (wine/sake/tequila) and ISO glasses (spirits) to use during class.
Certification
This is an introductory. Please note that there is no exam for this course. Those wishing to gain certification should register for the two-day Certified Sake Sommelier course and exam.
