Description
A basic level introduction to wine. Great for individuals pursuing an interest in wine, wine lovers, wine collectors or for those who want to start a career in the wine business. You’ll explore the main grape varieties, wine regions and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately.
In this class, we taste about 10 wines and learn about storage, service of wine and we also do an interesting food and wine pairing.
Price includes the WSET® Level 1 Study Guide, tuition, printed materials and exam. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET® certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).
Exam is at the end of the day. If by any chance, you can’t take the exam, we can reschedule your exam date with a 14 days notice.
Please note this course can be postponed (rescheduled) 30 days prior the date if minimum registrations are not achieved.

What you’ll learn:
You’ll explore major grape varieties, wine regions, factors affecting the flavor and aromas of wines. You will learn about how to store wine, wine pairing, service of wine and how to describe wines using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting® (SAT).
Course Structure:
One day of class, from 9:30am – 5:00pm. Test will be at the end of the class.

Entry Requirements:
There are no requirements for this qualification, but the student must be of legal drinking age in order to participate in the wine tasting. About 10-14 wines are tasted during the course.
Price includes the WSET® Level 1 study guide, all wines, tuition, printed materials, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).
For all WSET® in-classroom qualifications, we use RIEDEL glasses (wine) and ISO glasses (spirits) during class.
Certification:
This level has a minimum requirement of six hours of study time, in classroom. After class, the student will take a 45-minute test. The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions and the student will need at least 70% to pass the exam.

WSET Students Cancellations/Refunds:
All WSET courses sales are final once registration is completed and we have sent the materials. You can be transferred to another date 45 days in advance. No changes are accepted 45 days prior the course. Student can be transferred to another date 45 days in advance. Transfer fee for L1 is $150, for L2 $250 and for L3 is $375. Unfortunately, no transfers are allowed 45 days prior the first day of the course. Make sure you submit your transfer request by email cheers@vitishouse.com.
For WSET L1, L2 and L3 Online Students: no changes or cancellations are allowed after registration is completed.
