Join us for our WSET® Level 2 course. This is a beginner- to intermediate-level qualification. Great for wine enthusiasts seeking to deepen their knowledge or wine professionals.

You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and you’ll learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

We taste about 25 wines throughout the entire course (2 days). All students who pass successfully will receive a certificate and a lapel pin.

Exam is at the end of the day. If by any chance, you can’t take the exam, we can reschedule your exam date with a 14 days notice. Parking available but Uber/Lyft is recommended. Please note this course can be postponed (rescheduled) 30 days prior the date if minimum registrations are not achieved.

What you’ll learn:

You will explore the major grape varieties, wine regions, wine styles, classification and labeling terminology. Also, the key factors affecting the influence of wine, basic principles of food and wine pairing and how to describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT).

Course Structure:

This qualification requires a minimum of 28 hours of study time (16 hours in-classroom, 11 hours of private study, and a one-hour exam). Two full days of class, from 9:00am – 5:00pm.  Test will be at the end of the class on day 2. For detailed information on this course please check course specification on the official WSET website.

Entry Requirements:

There are no requirements for this qualification, but the student must be of legal drinking age in order to participate in the wine tasting.  

Price includes the WSET® Level 2 study guide, all wines, tuition, printed materials, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).

For all WSET® in-classroom qualifications, we use RIEDEL glasses (wine) and ISO glasses (spirits) during class.

Certification WSET Level 2 Wines:

This level has a minimum requirement of 16 guided hours of study time in classroom. After class, each student will take a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 60 minutes. A total mark of 55% is required to achieve a pass. All students who pass will be issued with a certificate and will receive a lapel pin.

An intermediate ONLINE course to deepen your knowledge and tasting skills so you can confidently share it with others!

This five-week course is a five module online program with educator support that will take 30 hours to complete. You will have access to your WSET student platform, where you can ask to questions to your WSET educators, get answers, and engage with other wine experts. Vitis House Educators will also share their support and our great mock up exam to prepare you for the real exam day. 

We recommend six hours of study time per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.

Vitis House instructors will be available to respond to your questions during the program.

Certification/Exam:

Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions. Online candidates will take the exam via Remote Invigilation. This will give you the flexibility to take the exam from your computer, monitored via webcam, using a secondary recording device (cell phone). To schedule your exam (14 business days in advance) please contact us at cheers@vitishouse.com after booking your course. Please note that you have six months, from the course start date, to sit the exam. After six months, you will have to purchase and re-take the entire course before you can sit the exam.
