1 day of intensive professional training using WSET methodology

Day 1

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

1 day of intensive training where we discuss the classic white and red grape varieties and tackle questions like how is wine made? What are the different types and styles of wine? How should wine be stored and served? What are ideal foods for all styles of wine?

Morning Session
What is wine? Growing grapes, winemaking, types and styles of wine. The Systematic Approach to Tasting. Principle white grape varieties and regions where they are found.

Afternoon Session
Principle red grape varieties and regions, storage and service of wine, pairing wine and food.

Exam

4:00 PM – 4:45 PM

Details:

You pick the course date when you want to start! From anywhere you want!  Enroll and then contact us cheers@vitishouse.com to schedule your exam. After that you’ll receive an email with everything you need to join the program. Then start! Vitis House instructors will be available to respond to your questions.

Course Structure:

Access and participation in the course online activities is essential. It is recommended to taste at least 5 wines during the program. For more information and full details on the course, please download the Specification sheet.

Entry Requirements:

There are no requirements for this qualification. Price includes the WSET® Level 1 online access, class, Vitis House mock-up exam questions, support from Vitis House educators, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination).

Vitis House and WSET seeks to assess all candidates in a way that puts them at no disadvantage, or advantage, over other candidates.  If you have a reasonable adjustment request, please send us an email at least 45 calendar days before the course cheers@vitishouse.com

Certification/Exam:

Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions. Online candidates will take the exam via Remote Invigilation. This will give you the flexibility to take the exam from your computer, monitored via webcam, using a secondary recording device (cell phone). To schedule your exam (14 business days in advance) please contact us at cheers@vitishouse.com after booking your course. Please note that you have six months, from the course start date, to sit the exam. After six months, you will have to purchase and re-take the entire course before you can sit the exam.
